This SLA Submission Site is the official website portal for all SLA Awards & Honors nominations and all Conference-related events proposals (for unit planners only). There are two purposes for this portal; please read entirely the directions below in relation to your submission type.

Submitting an Awards and Honors Nomination
Nominate an SLA member for one of SLA’s Awards and Honors: the John Cotton Dana Award, Rose L. Vormelker Award, SLA Hall of Fame, SLA Fellows, and SLA Rising Star. More information is below regarding each specific award description.
The first step for submitting your Awards nominee is to create an account, which can be done at the right of the page. Please reference the How-to Guide below for questions regarding the submission process.
SLA awards recognize specific achievements and are given at different points in an information professional’s career. As such, each SLA award has its own specific criteria in addition to the general eligibility requirements listed here and detailed in the "Award Nominations Criteria" link above:
- Nominees must be members in good standing in SLA.
- Nominations may be submitted by any member of the association (including oneself) or by an employer or colleague.
- SLA members serving on the SLA Board of Directors are ineligible for an award during their term.
- Nominations must be received at SLA headquarters before the deadline to be considered. SLA awards and honors nominations are due January 9, 2017.
Here are some important changes to this year’s Awards nomination guidelines:
- Individuals may only self-nominate for one award.
- A letter of recommendation is required for all submissions.
Award nominators should submit as much information as possible to support their nomination, and information should correlate with the purpose of each specific award. Please click the "Award Descriptions" link above to become familiar with each award's purpose and meaning.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Awards and Honors Committee, and award recipients will be notified mid-February.
All awards and honors will be recognized at the 2017 SLA Annual Conference June 16-20, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Submitting a Division/Chapter/Caucus Social/Special Event Proposal (Unit Planners Only)
Use this website to submit proposals for Division/Chapter/Caucus Social & Special Events (both on-site and off-site) at the 2017 SLA Annual Conference, June 16-20, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona. Please note that submissions can be made by units only.
The first step for submission is to create an account, which can be done at the right of the page. Additional information and references are provided below. The Submission Guidelines provide vital information for planned events, and "How to Create a Submission", provides you with step-by-step instructions on starting the process. Each event must be submitted separately. Be sure to include all the information requested. Please remember that On-site and Off-site Special Events must be submitted by December 1, 2016.
